Millimetre were commissioned by Lite Structures and Momentum to create an installation for the My Live Story music event. The event was held at Abbey Road Studios and sponsored by American Express. Millimetre were asked to design, produce, install and implement the installation which consisted of a series of physical and digital components used to create a large scale AV ˜photo-wall'.
The brief was to create a large visual/digital installation that would enable event guests to be photographed identifying their favourite live gig and for these images to be displayed at the event in a creative/interactive way. Millimetre created a system that took individual's photographs displayed them full size and then dropped them into a background matrix of people and their favourite gigs.
Millimetre worked with Lite Structures and Event Projection to create the physical installation. All digital and photographic elements were undertaken ˜in-house' with millimetre's staff developing the programming to support the AV element of the installation.
The software required for the work was created with a mixture of Flash, javascript, PHP and Processing. Resolume Avenue was used to generate full HD visual output.
The installation was enjoyed by all the guests who participated and the feedback we received about our process was outstanding. The My Live Story Photo wall fulfilled the brief, successfully providing a fresh new element to an already stimulating music event.
