Mayfair Mews Marble & Glass Helical Staircase with UHA London and Krause Architects

millimetere designed, manufactured and installed this complex, challenging and high specification staircase over a glass floor in a private Mayfair residence.

This two flight cantilevered helical staircase, fabricated from 12mm mild steel with a matt white, wet paint system was a challenging combination of engineering, materiality and fabrication techniques all manufactured in our Brighton & Hove workshop.

The treads and risers are clad in a white marble and the balustrade is formed of curved glass with a leather handrail.

The stunning geometry of the finished staircase became the centre piece of the house.
