Notting Hill Carnival Pavilion

Notting Hill Carnival Pavilion Sumayya Vally commissioned by Alvaro Barrington

Notting Hill Carnival

08/2022

Over the last couple of months our team have been busy bringing to life a four-piece sculptural art installation for Notting Hill Carnival. This project is a collaboration between Sumayya Vally and Alvaro Barrington, who both regularly advocate for community-based interdisciplinary art and design.

The pyramidal structure involved over 160 drawings of the unique modules joined to create each part of the sculpture. The varied geometric nature of the forms meant that fabrication involved CNC machined parts and laminated ply curvatures.

Fragments of the Pavilion were part of the procession and carried along Great Western Road. It was on display from Sunday 28th August to Monday 29th August.
